£37,000 – £42,000 + Excellent Benefits (4.5 day working week and fully remote option)

Global leader in b2b conferences and exhibitions seeks a highly experienced Supplier Manager (venues) to join their newly created team.

The Supplier Manager – Venues position sits within the Procurement function of Group Event Operations and will be responsible for venue sourcing and negotiation activities across all event brands.

The person in this role will manage the entire venue sourcing process from initial brief to contract signing. Predominantly focusing on venues throughout the UK, EMEA and the US, this position will play a vital role in ensuring venue selections meet the quality and expectations of the business, are delivered within (or below) budget, and are negotiated to minimise their exposure to risk.

Principal Accountabilities

·Ensure all shortlisted venue options appropriately match the expectations of the relevant event brand and its customers while also maximising cost saving opportunities.

·Manage complex negotiations relating to space, rates, costs, concessions, and contract terms.

·Work with Product Directors and the Event Delivery Team to establish venue and housing requirements.

·Adopt a data driven approach to provide insights into room block performance and commission by event, venue brand and as a group

·Cultivate positive relationships with key hotel chains

Experience Required:

  • Ideally 5+ years venue booking experience on the event side
  • Advanced negotiating, risk management, and contracting skills
  • Commercial acumen
  • Advanced project management skills
  • Exceptional ability to establish relationships and maintain a positive rapport both internally and externally
  • Ability to manage multiple projects across multiple time zones simultaneously and within tight deadlines.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills (written, verbal, presentation).
  • Familiarity with development of RFP/RFIs based on event needs.
